Our Mission: The mission of the YOB Fair is to bring together business owners of small to medium size businesses and community leaders in the spirit of building unlimited business growth possibilities to the Arizona economy. This is accomplished by providing improved access to community resources and collaboration among individuals, groups, civic agencies and organizations from across the Valley.
2012 YOB (Your Own Business) Fair is taking place on September 21, 2012 at the Shrine Auditorium in Phoenix, 8am – 4pm. The event is a partnership of Arizona SCORE, Greater Phoenix SCORE (GPS) and the City of Phoenix.
Registration is open and admission is FREE! Join us for ONE DAY with UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES!
The day is set to be packed with activity including local leaders and sports figures speaking on a variety of topics related to starting and growing an Arizona business. Greater Phoenix SCORE mentors will be available for FREE business mentoring sessions.
Workshops topics for business owners include franchise opportunities, small business marketing, entrepreneurship, funding your business and using social media to build a business. Workshops are free of charge and open to all attendees.
History of YOB Fair: Early in 2010 the Urmans, long-time entrepreneurs and active members of the Phoenix business community, had a simple idea: help Arizona business owners connect with local resources available to launch or expand a business. They recruited the best government agencies, business groups and local small businesses to discuss how to share valuable information and make a positive impact the economy in Greater Phoenix.
In May 2010 the first YOB (Your Own Business) Fair was held in north Phoenix. More than 1,000 attendees participated in workshops gathering information about launching and expanding their businesses. Collaboration of individuals, groups, civic agencies and organizations from across the Valley contributed to the success of the initial event. Founding members include the City of Phoenix, the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, SCORE, ASBA, Three Dog Marketing, Urman Enterprises and many, many, more.
YOB Fair 2011: More than 3,000 attendees joined us in 2011. One thing was apparent: business owners and entrepreneurs are eager for increased access to tools, information and training from the Valley business community offers. The best way to tap into these resources is through collaboration.
